McQ Alexander McQueen
Diving in head first, might we just say that Alexander
McQueen’s diffusion line, McQ, has us clinging on to the edge of our seats till
they hit the stores. Excuse our unbridled delight and let us show you why!
Before the images do the talking, let us break it down for you. Manga artist
Yoshiyasu Tamura was commissioned to create a comic book strip, which in turn
was emblazoned across articles of clothing in varying doses. End result?
Effortlessly cool sweaters, jeans and jackets that are perfect for a lazy day
out.
Moschino
With Jeremy Scott at the helm, we definitely expected no
less than this. The collection boasted an infusion of junk and pop culture,
having the models strut down the runway in pieces splashed with the McDonald’s logo
and Spongebob Squarepant’s mug. As always with Scott, you either love it, or
hate it. As far as we can tell, we think most might go with the former. As it
is, model Soo Joo Park and blogger Chiara Ferragni have been spotted out and
about in their sweater dresses.
Alexander Wang
Veering away from the monotone palette that dominated his
Spring/Summer 2014 line, Wang defies the gloomy skies ahead this Fall/Winter by
injecting colour into his collection, lots of it (what a rebel!). Opening with monochrome
looks, Wang surprised us slowly but surely with the subsequent looks that were
bright in hue to say the least.
Also, are we the only ones that have a positive reaction to his
continued use of neoprene?
