PF's Style Crush: Rachel Bilson

I can't think of a better girl style crush to end of the year than Rachel Bilson. No matter where she goes, be it to the grocery store or a red carpet event, she is always looking effortlessly fashionable and chic. I love her relaxed daily styles and her tailored chic looks. The best part of all, she's 5'2" (about 1.57m)...which proves that you don't have to be supermodel tall to look good! :D

Love this 3.1 Phillip Lim Edie Bow Bag!

I hope you all are having a lovely holiday so far. Have a fabulous New Year's Eve tomorrow!

XOXO,
Jeneen

#Secret Starlet Dress

Hey girls!

A new piece [made lovingly for you] by Pink Flare will be hitting the store soon! #Secret Starlet dress is a twist from the #Ever After piece that was really popular and sold out in a flash when it was launched. We had lots of requests to bring it back, so here we are, with this piece in 3 gorgeous colours. We've reinvented the design a little such as the neckline, waistline details and such, but have kept the design of the ribbon-tie low back that everyone loved.

We're expecting the dresses to arrive early next week, so here are some pictures to sneak a peek first! :)

#Secret Starlet dress in cream.

#Secret Starlet dress in navy blue.

#Secret Starlet dress in blush pink.

We're thinking it's a great piece to wear and herald the New Year in with a bang. Which colour would you pick? :)

Holiday Hair

Got this article from Elle that I thought you girls will be interested in. Hair inspirations for the party season and to ring in 2012 with style! :)

A glamorous ponytail with volume on top.

Dual texture bun - sleek in the front and messy at the back. Super sexy!

Adding texture to a short choppy cut.

Use a medium-barrel curling iron and sea-salt spray to whip the locks into sexy waves. Alternate the direction of the curl for each section and leave ends straight “for an organic, natural appearance.”

Beach waves for long locks.

Adding a jewelled or metallic accessory for an instant dose of glamour.

Soft waves and a chunky barette. Pretty and feminine!

Adding a simple headband to an up-do.

When it comes to headbands, less is more—you don’t want them to detract from the hairstyle.

French braids around the head.

“You don’t have to be good at braiding in order to create this look,” says hairstylist Guido. “A disheveled appearance is more charming. Don’t worry if you have to fudge a little or pieces fall out along the way—when the braid is too perfect, it’s not as stylish and can resemble a crown.”

The ubiquitous side-braid.

When you’re done with the braid, break it up with your fingers to make it seem less done. Or, weave multiple braids into the side-swept style, as Blake Lively did. You can choose varying widths and textures, and maybe throw in a fishtail braid.

A loose chignon.

A timeless style that can be worn to both a casual and fancy event. Use a center part for a more youthful look. For an unexpected twist, place the bun slightly off-center for a low side-chignon.

A strong bold straight part - adds definition and elegance to a simple style.

Side parted curled up-do. Very old Hollywood glamour.

After curling sections with a one-inch-barrel curling iron, use fingers to separate and pin waves at the nape of the neck. You should always place the deep side part above the highest point of the brow - this way, it creates a linear appearance and draws attention to your eyes. If your part isn't lined up this way, it can be very distracting.

Lacquered old Hollywood curls.

When your hair is completely dry, put hot rollers in starting at the top and going all the way to the back, then on the sides going all the way down. Let the rollers cool as you do your makeup, then take them out and use a Mason Pearson brush to smooth the waves in place. Finish with a touchable, sheer-hold hairspray.

A sleek ponytail.

To shine in a more low-maintenance way, fasten strands into a ponytail or twist.

PF's Style Crush: Poppy Delevigne

This month (I'm a few days late for November, sorry!! Been just so busy!!), I'm totally girl crushing on Poppy Delevigne and her chic street style. Love it that she's not afraid to mix up styles from pretty to punky, and that she always looks so effortless!

As usual, here are images for you to pore over and be inspired!

Here's some tidbits that I found online from her interview with Cosmopolitan UK.

How long does it take you to put an outfit together in the mornings?

It depends on my mood that day, some times I can be really indecisive and be one of those people who tries on everything and throws clothes around the room. Then sometimes I’ll wake up and know what I want to put on.

Do you have one fail safe outfit?

Probably leather leggings, a Topshop jumper or tee of some sort and an Alexander Wang leather jacket. Topshop is the best, I don’t know how I’d live without it. Most of my clothes are from there.

Where else do you shop?

I love Mango, I always seem to find something in there. Oasis I like a lot and Zara although I prefer H&M, especially the designer collaborations. I wanted every piece of the Matthew Williamson collection. I loved the Stella one too, I queued up for it!

What words sum up your personal style?

I would probably say very eclectic because I usually dress to suit my mood. One day a week I want to be all rock and roll, another day it’s girlie and hippie or boho.

Have a lovely week ahead everyone!

XOXO,
Jeneen
